Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Another One LLC (“we,” “us”), the maker of the Oatline app for iPhone and Mac (“Oatline,” “the app”). By downloading or using Oatline, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app. We’ve kept them as plain as the law allows.

1. What Oatline is

Oatline plans weekly meals around nutrition targets you choose and builds a shopping list from the plan. It is a planning tool: it organizes information, and you decide what to do with it.

2. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Oatline on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms of service (including the usage rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions). The app is licensed to you, not sold.

3. Not medical or nutrition advice

Oatline provides general meal-planning information. It is not medical, nutritional, or dietetic advice, and it is not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified professional. The macro targets in the app are numbers you choose, not numbers we prescribe. Before making significant changes to your diet — especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, or have a history of disordered eating — talk to a doctor or registered dietitian. Use the app in the way that’s kind to you.

4. Allergies: always read the label

Oatline lets you exclude allergens and ingredients, and recipes that contain something you avoid are filtered out of your plans. This filtering relies on how recipes and their ingredients are tagged, and we cannot guarantee that tagging is complete or error-free — nor can the app know what’s actually in the products you buy. If you or anyone in your household has a food allergy or intolerance, always verify actual ingredients and product labels yourself. Do not rely solely on Oatline’s filters for any allergy, especially a severe one.

5. Food handling

Some plans carry a cooked dinner to the next day’s lunch. This follows general food-safety guidance for refrigerated cooked food, but safe storage, preparation, and your own judgment about what’s still good to eat are your responsibility.

6. Your content

Recipes and other content you create in Oatline are yours. They are stored on your devices and in your own iCloud, we never receive them, and we claim no rights over them. There is no Oatline account and nothing you create is published anywhere by the app.

7. Purchases and the Oatline+ subscription

Oatline is free to download, and the full app is unlocked by one auto-renewing subscription: Oatline+, $3.99 per month or $29.99 per year, shareable with your household through Family Sharing. It is billed by Apple to your Apple ID under Apple’s payment terms, and the exact price in your currency is shown in the app and in the App Store at the point of purchase.

Oatline+ renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone; App Store → your name → Account Settings on Mac); to avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current one ends. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its terms. If a price ever changes, it applies only from your next renewal, after Apple notifies you.

8. Intellectual property

The app, the Oatline name and grains mark, the design, and the built-in recipe collection are the property of Another One LLC and are protected by copyright and other laws. These terms don’t give you any right to use our name or marks. The Lora typeface is used under the SIL Open Font License.

9. Acceptable use

Use Oatline only as the law and these terms allow. Don’t copy, sell, rent, or redistribute the app or its recipe collection; don’t reverse-engineer or extract source code except where the law permits it despite this term; and don’t use the app in a way that interferes with anyone else’s use of it.

10. The app is provided “as is”

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oatline is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of nutritional figures, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Per-recipe nutrition values are estimates.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Another One LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Terms that Apple requires

Because Oatline is distributed through Apple’s App Store:

• These terms are between you and Another One LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Support comes from us, at hey@anotherone.app.
• If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection or similar claims.
• In the event of a third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for its investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Ending things

You can stop using Oatline at any time by deleting the app; the privacy policy explains how to remove your data from iCloud too. We may terminate this license if you materially breach these terms. Sections 3–5 and 8–14 survive termination.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California. If you live somewhere whose consumer laws give you more protection, nothing here takes that away.

15. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the effective date above; material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
